Base Salary

$120k - $165k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Integrate and deploy the autonomy stack on customer-bound hardware platforms and validate it in real-world conditions.
  • Deliver new autonomous behaviors, payload integrations, and mission use-cases in collaboration with end-users and stakeholders.
  • Optimize autonomous vehicle performance across sensing, compute, controls, and other subsystems.
  • Analyze test results, identify issues and root causes, and drive corrective actions with engineering teams.
  • Detect performance shortfalls and implement enhancements to the core autonomy stack.
  • Translate customer requirements into delivered autonomy capabilities with business development and engineering teams.
  • Travel 10–25% or 25–50% depending on candidate preference and role placement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, robotics, or a related field, or relevant experience/show of skill.
  • Experience integrating software on hardware products.
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Python, or Java.
  • Core software engineering skills in software design, unit testing, and debugging.
  • Ability to deliver production-quality software in a continuously integrated environment.
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code and documentation.
  • Preferred experience in robotics and autonomous systems software development.
  • Preferred experience with ROS2, state machines, motion or path planning, navigation, mapping algorithms, robot perception, real-time operating systems, or embedded programming.
  • Ability to commute to Arlington, Virginia as needed; the position may require eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
