Responsibilities
- Write and maintain clean, documented, efficient embedded-systems code.
- Debug and test code within a multi-developer team.
- Conduct developmental testing to identify and fix issues.
- Support software development activities for UAS platforms, including analysis, prototyping, end-item development, and laboratory and field evaluation.
- Integrate software, payloads, sensors, and electrical components into UAS platforms.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and product owners to develop software solutions for stated requirements.
- Troubleshoot real-world challenges and deliver workable software solutions on rapid timelines.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret DoD security clearance.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, MATLAB, and JavaScript.
- Experience with embedded systems for autonomous vehicles.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, analysis, optimization, and testing.
- Knowledge of applied mathematics, differential equations, linear algebra, and statistics.
- Ability to program electrical components, retrieve and evaluate data, and change code and device settings.
- Ability to communicate effectively in an engineering environment and document and explain technical work.
- Preferred qualifications include experience controlling physical devices from initial development through deployment, significant software development experience for unmanned or autonomous air vehicles, and experience designing, building, and testing electrical subsystems for airborne platforms.
- Preferred qualifications include software control-program design and integration for electromechanical systems, technical expertise, precision engineering practices, organization, communication, prioritization, and productivity skills.
