Responsibilities
- Build, optimize, and embed machine learning models for on-device inference within the QSIDS detection engine.
- Optimize models for on-device memory footprint, latency, compute usage, and performance constraints.
- Collaborate with systems engineers to integrate models into the Go-based engine.
- Deploy models to production, monitor their performance, detect drift, and iterate to maintain reliability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define milestones and align timelines with development needs.
- Participate in technology and product development decisions.
- Resolve anomalies and production problems promptly.
- Evaluate current machine learning technologies and best practices while avoiding unnecessary novelty.
- Help onboard and train colleagues as the team grows.
- Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building and shipping machine learning models to production, including deploying, running, and monitoring them in live environments.
- Hands-on experience owning models after deployment by monitoring performance, detecting drift, and iterating on production systems.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience embedding machine learning models for on-device inference is preferred.
- Experience with high-performance, low-resource systems programming, including memory management, multithreading, and optimization, is preferred.
- Experience with Go or an adjacent systems programming language is preferred.
- Bilingual French and English communication skills are preferred.
- Startup experience is preferred.
- A master’s degree or PhD in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Working proficiency in English is required.
