Responsibilities
- Decompose ambiguous problems into clear system designs and make architectural decisions balancing immediate needs with long-term maintainability.
- Design, build, deploy, and operate production-ready software across the full lifecycle.
- Work across legacy modernization and greenfield development environments.
- Own technical decisions for complex system components and communicate trade-offs to product and engineering stakeholders.
- Define testing strategy, code quality, observability, and documentation standards for the codebase.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering colleagues to understand problems before building solutions.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building and shipping complex real-world software systems with meaningful end-to-end ownership.
- Strong system-design and architectural-reasoning skills, including understanding component interactions, failure modes, and system boundaries.
- Ability to decompose ambiguous problems and translate business needs into structured technical approaches.
- Strong production-quality discipline covering testing, observability, error handling, and operational readiness.
- Ability to communicate technical trade-offs to non-engineering stakeholders, write clear specifications, and build consensus.
- Ability to learn new stacks, tools, and domains quickly, with experience across more than one language or framework.
- Strong ownership and initiative, including identifying and resolving problems through production.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or similar is preferred.
- Experience evaluating AI-generated code, public-sector or related domains, legacy modernization, platform or product-led engineering environments, or familiarity with .NET, Go, React, and TypeScript is preferred.
