Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test cases, and validation frameworks for Grid Software and electrification solutions.
- Perform functional, system, integration, regression, and end-to-end validation of power system applications.
- Design and implement automated test solutions and promote quality engineering practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, product managers, and domain experts to validate complex grid and utility workflows.
- Translate power systems and utility requirements into validation scenarios and test coverage strategies.
- Validate algorithms, analytical functions, and operational workflows for accuracy and performance.
- Participate in quality reviews, defect triage, root cause analysis, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Analyze and troubleshoot application defects, performance issues, and customer-reported problems.
- Support cross-functional teams in delivering high-quality software releases.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or software product validation.
- Hands-on experience testing and validating enterprise software products, particularly power systems and electrification software solutions.
- Strong expertise in power systems and utility domains, including experience with Transmission, EMS, SCADA, WAMS, or related software.
- Experience with test strategy development, system validation, defect management, release qualification, and test automation.
- Understanding of enterprise software products, complex integrations, APIs, databases, web applications, and distributed system architectures from a testing perspective.
- Experience working in Linux and Windows environments.
- Experience with Agile environments, CI/CD, and continuous testing practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
