Responsibilities
- Design, build, automate, and maintain scalable, highly available, and reliable GCP infrastructure.
- Implement and support GCP platform services including GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions.
- Deploy and maintain GCP containers, serverless functions, databases, and other cloud resources.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and remediate infrastructure, performance, and security issues using Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging.
- Partner with development teams to build and mature GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines for GCP and cross-cloud deployments.
- Use Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
- Use Rundeck to create operational runbooks and scripted workflows for self-service infrastructure automation.
- Apply security best practices across IAM, VPC Service Controls, encryption, and organization policies.
- Architect interoperable GCP solutions with Azure and AWS where required.
- Optimize cloud resource usage and costs using billing reports, recommenders, and committed use discounts.
- Guide teams on GCP best practices and cloud-native design while driving technical decisions through delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.
- At least 7 years of cloud engineering experience, including at least 3 years working in Google Cloud environments.
- At least 3 years designing, implementing, and supporting highly distributed, highly available environments.
- At least 2 years migrating on-premises workloads to public cloud.
- Strong hands-on expertise with GCP infrastructure, automation, cloud-native architecture, Terraform, and Rundeck.
- Strong understanding of GCP networking, including VPC, firewall rules, Cloud DNS, and load balancing.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, IAM, organization policies, and data privacy requirements.
- Experience troubleshooting GCP compute, networking, and platform services.
- Working familiarity with Azure and AWS in multi-cloud environments.
- Strong technical leadership, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and independent execution skills.
