Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure, applications, and tooling for software-defined manufacturing.
- Write clean, maintainable code and perform peer code reviews.
- Write technical documentation and participate in cross-team communication and knowledge sharing.
- Investigate design approaches, prototype new technologies, and evaluate technical feasibility with team members.
- Collaborate with adjacent teams to understand field usage of frameworks and infrastructure and improve developer velocity.
- Architect and deploy software systems spanning robots through cloud infrastructure.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
- B.S. or M.S. degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, JavaScript, C#, or Go.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools and GitOps workflows.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, including self-hosted and managed deployments and modern Kubernetes paradigms such as CNCF.
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and configuration management tools such as Ansible.
- Familiarity with observability stacks including Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Experience communicating with users, technical leaders, and management to collect requirements and describe system designs is preferred.
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices involving the SDLC, code reviews, source code management, CI/CD, testing, and operations is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow other team members is preferred.
