Responsibilities
- Validate end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines built on Azure and Microsoft Fabric.
- Test data movement across source, Bronze/Silver staging, and Gold consumption layers.
- Verify data transformations, aggregations, business rules, reconciliations, completeness, duplicates, nulls, and integrity checks.
- Perform functional, UI, and end-to-end testing of Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
- Validate KPI calculations, measures, filters, slicers, drill-downs, user interactions, and consistency with backend sources.
- Create, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, test scripts, automation scripts where applicable, and test data.
- Participate in requirements analysis, test design, execution, and closure throughout the STLC.
- Identify, log, track, and manage defects using JIRA, HP ALM, or RTC, and coordinate resolution and retesting.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with data engineers and business teams on requirements and validation.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, and results to stakeholders.
Requirements
- 4 to 7 years of experience in QA or testing roles.
- Strong understanding of ETL/data warehouse testing and data validation.
- Advanced SQL expertise, including analytical functions.
- Experience with test management tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, or RTC.
- Understanding of the STLC process.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Experience testing data pipelines and reporting solutions end-to-end is preferred.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure, cloud data platforms, Microsoft Power BI, or analytics platforms is preferred.
- Python knowledge is preferred.
- Understanding of the financial services or banking domain is highly desirable.
- QA certifications such as ISTQB are preferred.
