Base Salary
$148k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the long-term technical roadmap for claims management systems with Product, Claim Operations, Data Science, and other stakeholders.
- Provide architectural leadership and guide design tradeoffs and strategic decisions across multiple engineering teams.
- Improve claims workflows through platform innovation and AI automation solutions.
- Build scalable, reliable, high-quality, and well-tested software for the insurance platform.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external insurance partners on technical alignment and scalable integrations.
- Lead code reviews, design reviews, production on-call support, and incident triage.
- Contribute to the engineering community through knowledge sharing and improvements to engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or relevant work experience.
- At least 6 years of professional experience building scalable distributed systems with high availability, observability, and reliability requirements.
- Experience building end-to-end products and platforms while collaborating with backend, frontend, data engineering, data science, claims operations, and product teams.
- Strong ability to reason about system design, architecture, domain modeling, operational cost, and technical tradeoffs.
- Experience developing AI features using multimodal LLMs, RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and AI frameworks.
- Experience improving AI performance through evaluations, agent tracing, LLM fine-tuning, RAG optimization, and feedback loops.
- Proficiency in Python; React, Next.js, and data analysis knowledge are a plus.
- Experience with data-processing frameworks and tools such as Spark, Kafka, and Airflow, as well as cloud provisioning environments.
- Strong oral and written interpersonal communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes insurance, claims management, workflow orchestration, external vendors, AI safety and alignment, machine learning, NLP, A/B testing, and experimentation frameworks.
