Responsibilities

  • Optimize animation workflows through automation and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain scripts, tools, and utilities for animation teams.
  • Assist artists with technical issues throughout the production pipeline.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and collaborate with artists and pipeline teams to build improvements.
  • Coordinate with supervising animators to implement optimizations for sequences and assets.
  • Support the proprietary animation pipeline and evaluate pipeline best practices.
  • Author tool- and workflow-specific training materials.
  • Communicate production progress and challenges to animation and pipeline leadership.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve creative and technical dependencies.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in visual development, film, animation, and computer graphics is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Maya; Unreal Engine and Houdini are a plus.
  • Programming experience in Python.
  • C++ experience is a plus.
  • Bash, cshell, and Linux knowledge.
  • Experience with Docker or other software distribution systems.
  • Code-sharing and revision-control experience is a plus.
  • Basic 3D or 2D artist experience is a plus.
  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Computing Science is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • A growth mindset and willingness to learn, iterate, and seek feedback.
