Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, troubleshoots, reviews, and debugs secure, high-quality Java backend production code.
  • Leads adoption and validation standards for enterprise-authorized AI-assisted coding, code review, testing, refactoring, and troubleshooting tools.
  • Coaches engineers on responsible AI use, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, correctness, performance, and security validation.
  • Identifies and automates remediation of recurring issues to improve application and system stability.
  • Leads technical evaluations with vendors, startups, and internal teams regarding architecture and technology applicability.
  • Drives communities of practice and adoption of leading-edge software engineering technologies and patterns.
  • Delivers system design, application development, testing, automation, continuous delivery, and operational stability improvements.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI practices, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, security, and compliant engineering adoption.
  • Advanced proficiency in J2EE and Core Java, including Java 17 language and concurrency features.
  • In-depth experience with Spring Framework, SOAP and RESTful web services, MVC, and Spring Boot.
  • Strong AWS experience architecting, deploying, and operating cloud-native services, including IAM, VPC, EC2, EKS, SQS, S3, RDS, ALB/NLB, Secrets Manager, and ElastiCache.
  • Experience with JIRA, Maven, Git, Jenkins, GitHub, and Bitbucket.
  • Experience with web security technologies and concerns including OAuth 2.0, ADFS, Kerberos, cross-site scripting, and HTTP injection.
  • Practical cloud-native experience and familiarity with financial services industry IT systems are preferred.
