Responsibilities
- Lead the design and build of user experiences using modern web technologies while managing a team of UI engineers.
- Act as a hands-on engineer and architect across frontend initiatives, including complex system design and delivery into production.
- Lead and participate in projects while collaborating with client stakeholders and other Lab49 practices.
- Build strategic client relationships, provide technical advice, and contribute to expanding client engagements and follow-on work.
- Partner with business development teams on pitches, problem definition, solution presentations, and engagement terms.
- Support the development of management practices, career planning, and professional development across the engineering practice.
- Contribute to Lab49’s Interactive Practice by promoting high-quality UI engineering and software development practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and building complex commercial-grade software applications.
- 5+ years of experience leading Agile teams.
- Experience managing project teams and interacting with clients in finance, consulting, or startup environments.
- Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript and modern frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.
- Experience with one or more cloud platforms and contemporary software development lifecycle practices such as continuous delivery.
- Strong understanding of testing, quality, continuous integration, source control, and code reviews.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Capital markets, financial markets/products, or consulting experience is highly desirable.
- Backend engineering experience with .NET, Java, or Python is a bonus.
- Experience with financial products and tools such as Bloomberg, Symphony, Salesforce, or Databricks is a bonus.
