Responsibilities
- Develop, test, maintain, and support custom Java full-stack software solutions.
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review functional requirements, analysis documents, designs, and code changes.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, scalable web services and distributed systems.
- Improve existing codebases, system quality, application performance, and operational procedures.
- Participate in architecture and code reviews and investigate relevant technologies.
- Provide technical direction for SaaS products and lead cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives.
- Mentor developers and lead project work across cross-functional teams.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in Java Full Stack Development or Java Enterprise Edition.
- At least 10 years of experience developing mission-critical systems or software for large business environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture skills, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems, data architecture, software security practices, and shell scripting.
- Understanding of unit, functional, performance, and test-driven development practices.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor developers, make independent decisions, and communicate across technical and business stakeholders.
- React experience is a plus.
- Experience with Pulsar, Snowflake, cloud modernization, LLMs, automation, AI initiatives, and engineering toolchains is preferred.
