Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Improve system quality by identifying issues and patterns, developing standard operating procedures, and enhancing applications.
- Maintain existing codebases, conduct peer reviews, and participate in architecture and code reviews.
- Investigate and apply relevant new technologies, including AI-native engineering practices and automation.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Lead technical work, mentor less experienced developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Drive cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives and translate AI innovation into business and productivity impact.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Java full-stack development and Java Enterprise Edition.
- At least 10 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments and mission-critical, low-latency solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented with Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Experience with React, Pulsar, Snowflake, software security tools, shell scripting, big data, machine learning, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains is preferred or advantageous.
- Ability to operate across business strategy, product strategy, technical design, and implementation while leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, decision-making, and customer-focused skills.
