$737k - $1430k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set multi-year product and technical strategy for the Application Networking organization.
- Define architectural direction for Netflix’s global communication backbone across consumer and enterprise traffic.
- Architect, build, and operate foundational distributed systems and platforms at massive scale.
- Influence architecture, technical priorities, and investment across peer organizations and business verticals.
- Identify and pursue high-impact opportunities in ambiguous and undefined problem spaces.
- Contribute to open-source communities or build systems that establish standards for others to adopt.
- Elevate senior engineers and establish a strong technical bar across the organization.
- Communicate technical strategy and decisions to engineering, product, and executive audiences.
Requirements
- Demonstrated track record of setting technical direction and influencing architecture across organizations, including peer teams without direct reporting relationships.
- Experience architecting, building, and operating foundational distributed systems or platforms at massive scale.
- History of identifying and pursuing high-impact opportunities in ambiguous problem spaces.
- Experience contributing to open-source communities or building systems that set standards others adopt.
- Track record of elevating senior engineers and setting a technical bar for others.
- Strong communication across engineering, product, and executive audiences.
