Responsibilities
- Define architecture and technical strategy for security platforms and services across Azure, sovereign, and specialized cloud environments.
- Design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure, networking, identity, and access management solutions.
- Create reusable architectural patterns and reference implementations with Azure platform, Sovereign Cloud Engineering, and Microsoft Security teams.
- Lead architecture reviews and provide guidance for complex security and infrastructure initiatives.
- Drive long-term platform solutions that improve scalability, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Establish engineering standards, design principles, and best practices across cloud architecture, networking, and security.
- Influence technical direction and align engineering investments across multiple teams and organizations.
- Mentor senior engineers and architects and foster engineering excellence.
- Drive adoption of security-by-design, zero trust, and defense-in-depth principles.
- Participate in critical incident management, live-site reviews, and operational readiness activities when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of software engineering, cloud architecture, or infrastructure engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure architecture, cloud services, and distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, hybrid connectivity, network security, routing, segmentation, and secure access architectures.
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale security solutions, including identity, privileged access, and Zero Trust architectures.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, policy enforcement, governance frameworks, and cloud security controls.
- Demonstrated success leading architecture initiatives across multiple teams and organizations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior technical and business leaders.
- Preferred: experience defining reference architectures and platform strategies adopted across large engineering organizations.
- Preferred: knowledge of Azure networking services, identity platforms, Azure security services, and compliance frameworks.
- Preferred: experience scaling security solutions across geographically distributed and highly regulated environments.
- Preferred: experience mentoring architects and senior engineers and leading technical communities.
