Base Salary
$90k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software for a converged computing and storage platform.
- Design solutions for complex distributed-system and customer requirements.
- Improve the performance, scale-out capability, and resiliency of distributed storage systems.
- Develop and maintain high-performance block-level data and metadata management and distributed replication capabilities.
- Collaborate with development teams, testers, documentation writers, product management, customers, and support teams.
- Help resolve production issues when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; an advanced related degree is preferred.
- Strong programming skills in one or more of C, C++, Java, and Python.
- Deep understanding of UNIX/Linux internals and familiarity with operating-system internals.
- Familiarity with distributed data management and the design trade-offs of clustered, high-performance, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- Experience with filesystems, operating systems, database backends, distributed systems management, or cloud technologies is a plus.
- Preferred experience with MapReduce, Cassandra, Zookeeper, and other large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, and Xen; VMware is preferred.
- Familiarity with x86 architecture, virtualization, and storage management.
- Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to solve complex problems across multiple teams.
