Responsibilities
- Develop and validate complex safety-critical embedded software applications for avionics systems.
- Lead software development across the complete software development lifecycle.
- Analyze customer and system requirements and translate them into high-level and low-level software requirements.
- Define software architecture, design approaches, and verification strategies.
- Develop and review software test plans, test cases, and validation procedures.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace certification standards and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Verification & Validation, Certification, and Program Management.
- Mentor engineers and drive technical excellence and continuous process improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related STEM discipline.
- 12+ years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in aerospace or another safety-critical industry.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace software certification standards including DO-178 and ARP4754A.
- Solid understanding of avionics communication protocols including ARINC 429, AFDX, ARINC 653, and ARINC 615A.
- Strong expertise in software lifecycle processes, requirements engineering, and verification methodologies.
- Experience deriving software requirements from customer and system-level requirements.
- Proven experience defining software verification and validation strategies.
- Hands-on embedded software development experience using C++.
- Programming experience in embedded systems and scripting languages.
- Knowledge of Flight Management Systems.
- Exposure to aerospace certification and regulatory compliance processes.
- Strong analytical, communication, and technical leadership skills.
