Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and debug BMC software solutions for product features including sensor monitoring, event logging, and WebUI functionality.
- Implement firmware functions to communicate with peripherals through SPI, I2C, UART, and other protocols according to specifications and chipset datasheets.
- Perform code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to ensure reliable, high-quality BMC software.
- Port BMC software to multiple hardware platforms and support server power-management functionality.
- Develop and maintain design specifications, user manuals, release notes, and other technical documentation.
Requirements
- BMC product and stack software solution experience is required.
- Strong understanding of server power management through BMC is required.
- At least 5 years of C++ coding experience in Linux applications, including software design and code-tracing skills.
- Hardware debugging experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of low-level protocols including I2C, PMBUS, SPI, UART, JTAG, and GPIO.
- Understanding of BMC IPMI 2.0, including IPMI Messaging, SDR, SEL, FRU, SOL, IPMB, LAN, KCS, event log, PEF, ME, NM, and PECI.
- Experience with MCTP and PLDM is required.
- Experience porting BMC software to multiple hardware platforms is required.
- Experience with AMI SPX/OneTree products is preferred.
- Experience with DCSCM cards is preferred.
