Responsibilities
- Own the technical vision and architecture for a major capability area such as agent-initiated settlement, edge AI-driven on-device financial agents, or portable verifiable trust.
- Lead technical design and set direction for systems intended to influence emerging fintech standards and industry conversations.
- Anticipate cross-system risks and dependencies across a portfolio of interconnected capabilities.
- Partner with engineering, domain, and compliance stakeholders to turn technical proof points into scalable product paths.
- Champion strategic investment in frontier technology and mentor engineers across a technically ambiguous environment.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience developing software for large-scale business environments and 5+ years designing complex distributed systems.
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of a complex technical domain and a track record of setting direction for other engineers.
- Ability to resolve deep technical and organizational ambiguity and architect for agentic observability and autonomous code navigation and modification.
- Deep expertise in payments/settlement, edge AI, or identity/trust systems, with strong cross-functional communication, analytical, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node, Kubernetes-based runtimes, and AWS EKS.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred qualifications include participation in open standards or protocol working groups, experience taking capabilities through compliance or legal review to beta or sandbox release, and hands-on edge AI or on-device deployment experience including model compression, inference pipelines, or wearable integration.

- Expected base pay range is $202,500-$274,000 for Mountain View; pay varies by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
