Responsibilities
- Own complex, data-dense UIs including dashboards, monitoring views, large tables, diffs, and drill-downs.
- Drive frontend component architecture, state management, rendering performance, responsive design, and API-driven data flow.
- Build and maintain a coherent component library and design system using Storybook.
- Write tests at every layer and help maintain the Cypress end-to-end test suite.
- Build frontend interfaces for LLM-powered and agentic workflows.
- Improve conventions, Storybook coverage, and testing systems for AI-assisted frontend development.
- Shape consumed APIs and implement Java backend changes when features require them.
- Mentor backend-focused engineers on frontend development.
- Collaborate directly with product, design, and customers to determine product priorities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of frontend development experience building real products and complex single-page applications.
- Expert TypeScript skills and deep experience with a modern framework; Angular is preferred, while strong React or Vue engineers willing to learn Angular are welcome.
- Experience with component architecture, state management, rendering performance, responsive design, and detailed frontend implementation.
- Hands-on testing experience, including end-to-end testing with Cypress or Playwright.
- Ability to read and modify Java services, design APIs from the consumer perspective, and write competent SQL.
- Understanding of how API design affects round-trips, data flow, and perceived UI latency.
- Experience shipping production code with AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Ability to work independently in a distributed, asynchronous team.
- Fluent English.
- Preferred experience includes data visualization, monitoring or analytics UIs, design-system or component-library ownership, multi-tenant SaaS, high-growth startups, Python, agentic workflows, LLM-powered features, data quality, data management, data observability, or ML monitoring.
