Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead engineering and operational management for highly available, large-scale Oracle database fleets.
- Perform Oracle 19c performance analysis, tuning, diagnostics, reliability improvements, upgrades, patching, and architectural changes.
- Build scalable fleet-management automation, monitoring, diagnostics, and operational tooling using Python and/or Shell scripting.
- Define database architecture, access methods, allocation strategies, validation controls, protection, security standards, capacity requirements, and availability requirements.
- Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, prevention initiatives, and resolution of complex production and cross-service issues.
- Lead the evolution of middleware patterns and runtimes, including interoperability, versioning, deprecation, API lifecycle, and safe rollout strategies.
- Drive shared observability baselines, SLOs, error budgets, resilience patterns, performance optimization, and scalability across services.
- Design, implement, test, debug, maintain, and optimize software and database systems while leading code reviews and quality practices.
- Create migration guides, adoption playbooks, operational runbooks, and architectural documentation.
- Mentor engineers, coach less experienced developers, participate in candidate interviews, and provide technical leadership across multiple teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6–8 years of Oracle Database Engineering, Administration, or SRE experience.
- Deep expertise with Oracle 19c, including RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, SQL optimization, performance diagnostics, and HA/DR design.
- Strong Python and/or Shell scripting experience for automation, diagnostics, monitoring, and operational tooling.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex database changes, upgrades, and reliability initiatives.
- Strong understanding of database security, observability, capacity planning, and cloud-scale operations.
- Experience with software architecture, API functionality and integration, versioning, interoperability, testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Proven technical leadership, mentoring, cross-functional collaboration, critical thinking, and written and spoken English skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a demanding environment and provide advanced technical guidance on complex customer and production issues.
