Base Salary
$160k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and improve backend systems including APIs, microservices, data ingestion and processing systems, and distributed task-processing systems.
- Write scalable, performant, secure, maintainable code and contribute improvements to core backend systems and products.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, processes, and security practices.
- Practice test-driven development and automated testing.
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
- Participate in on-call rotations to resolve critical technical issues.
- Apply OWASP Top 10 techniques and follow information-asset protection and security-incident reporting procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience building scalable web applications.
- Experience or strong interest in developing applications with Node.js.
- Experience designing and implementing highly available distributed systems and microservices.
- Experience building platforms that expose scalable backend APIs.
- Deep experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Understanding of monitoring and alerting platforms is a plus.
- Commitment to high code quality, automated testing, engineering best practices, correctness, collaboration, and effective communication.
