Responsibilities
- Develop, review, document, and maintain product source code in C, C++, and Rust.
- Analyze and develop firmware against internal and customer specifications.
- Develop low-level firmware, system architectures, operating systems, and device architectures with hardware and ASIC design teams.
- Implement embedded firmware in an RTOS environment and work across SSD architecture disciplines.
- Perform unit and system testing, failure analysis, debugging, and validation of product issues.
- Use storage interface standards including NVMe, PCIe, SATA, and SAS.
- Translate product requirements into development and validation plans.
- Coordinate priorities and activities with engineering stakeholders to meet project milestones.
- Lead the planning and technical aspects of feature development across the product lifecycle.
- Participate in Agile/Kanban development practices focused on product quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software or firmware development experience in embedded systems using C, C++, or Rust.
- Experience developing embedded firmware running in a real-time operating system with hardware and software interactions.
- Experience with firmware development environments including compilers, debuggers, emulators, and toolchains.
- Strong written, presentation, communication, multitasking, influence, and leadership skills.
- Preferred experience in the storage industry, including SSDs or enterprise storage.
- Preferred experience applying cryptographic algorithms such as SHA2/3, HMAC, KDF, ECC, RSA, and ML-DSA.
- Preferred experience with embedded development techniques, enterprise storage interface protocols, and SSD or enterprise storage security protocols.
- Preferred knowledge of software and firmware development processes, continuous integration validation, DevOps strategies, project planning, estimation, risk management, customer requirements, and unit testing.
