Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize cloud and data infrastructure for high availability, reliability, and scalability.
- Implement SRE practices including monitoring, alerting, error budgets, fault analysis, and proactive performance optimization.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, customers, and security teams to create secure and scalable solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and contribute to postmortem and continuous improvement processes.
- Lead the team’s architectural vision, technical strategy, and roadmap.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering and operational excellence.
- Engage customers and stakeholders, translate use cases and feedback into actionable insights, and influence technical decisions.
- Develop software and systems engineering capabilities, automation, deployment processes, and infrastructure for enterprise-scale software delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science and 8–14+ years of related experience.
- Extensive practical experience in areas including Linux, public cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, networking, security, systems administration, software development, and CI/CD.
- Strong hands-on cloud experience, preferably with AWS.
- Strong infrastructure-as-code skills using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Experience with observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos, CloudWatch, Splunk, or OpenTelemetry.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages.
- Good understanding of Unix/Linux systems, the kernel, system libraries, file systems, and client-server protocols.
- Experience building or managing cloud-based data platforms, infrastructure automation and orchestration, and highly available systems at scale is preferred.
- Preferred certifications include CKA, CKAD, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or equivalent cloud and security certifications.
- Strong architecture, ownership, communication, presentation, collaboration, prioritization, and stakeholder-influence skills.
