Base Salary
$164k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set the technical direction for Etsy’s recommendation system with cross-functional partners.
- Build user models to understand buyer interests, tastes, and shopping missions.
- Develop personalized ranking, multi-objective optimization, diversity, intent prediction, and lifecycle-transition models.
- Improve recommendation feed reactivity and freshness in response to user actions, trends, and seasonal changes.
- Prototype, optimize, and productionize large-scale machine learning models and pipelines.
- Conduct experiments, including A/B testing, to evaluate machine learning models and pipelines.
- Train, deploy, monitor, debug, and iterate on production machine learning systems.
Requirements
- Track record of applying machine learning techniques to real-world problems.
- Experience with deep learning, multimodal learning, reinforcement learning, or a related field.
- Hands-on production experience with machine learning systems in search, recommendation, or advertising.
- Production experience developing large-scale machine learning systems using Python, Scala, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar technologies.
- Ability to write understandable, testable, maintainable code and manipulate data at large scale.
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
- At least two years of practical machine learning experience.
