Responsibilities
- Develop, release, and maintain network stack and network offload features or applications for advanced networking products.
- Solve networking problems for customer product launches and deployments.
- Identify and resolve software and hardware performance bottlenecks in wireless networking products.
- Participate in pre-silicon emulation and post-silicon software development and validation.
- Define clean, scalable software interfaces with peer teams.
- Potentially lead projects involving small teams of junior engineers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience using C/C++ in networking, Linux device drivers, system software, or embedded software, ideally with Ethernet or WLAN drivers.
- Strong understanding of Linux kernel internals and low-level kernel programming, including writing or modifying device drivers.
- Strong C programming skills and knowledge of TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, ARP, DHCP, and VLANs.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 4+ years of related experience; alternatively, a master's degree plus 3+ years or a PhD plus 2+ years.
- 2+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, communication, interpersonal, and software architecture skills.
- Knowledge of Linux packet forwarding, Linux bridge, routing, tunnels, Open vSwitch, DPDK, VPP, Linux network stack internals, Ethernet or WLAN device drivers, CPU/I/O architecture, or AI/ML applications is a plus.
