Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Golang infrastructure services, typically as Kubernetes operators.
- Deliver Confluent Cloud foundations to the wider engineering organization.
- Collaborate with Confluent engineers to build the PaaS product.
- Own platform availability, performance, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning.
- Influence the architecture and operational design of large-scale cloud infrastructure.
- Operate systems spanning tens of thousands of instances securely and efficiently.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of relevant cloud infrastructure or cloud networking experience.
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development.
- Experience building and operating large-scale systems.
- Solid understanding of disk, networking, operating systems, and other basic systems operations.
- Proficiency in Go, Python, C++, or another statically typed language.
- Experience or knowledge with public clouds such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Ability to work effectively in teams and operate as a self-starter.
- Golang experience is advantageous.
- Apache Kafka experience is a plus.
