Responsibilities
- Translate business vision and enterprise architecture into effective solution designs for Financial Markets pricing and valuation systems.
- Act as a liaison between domain architects and DevOps teams while supporting engineering and product teams.
- Document as-is and to-be processes and designs, including roadmaps and migration plans.
- Organize and support DevOps and quantitative-analysis workshops, presentations, and architecture review meetings.
- Design and develop proofs of concept that can be transferred into minimum viable products by engineering teams.
- Coach engineers on ING standards and validate new architectural decisions.
- Apply request/reply, event-driven, microservices, and resilience architecture patterns.
- Monitor architecture trends in low-latency systems, well-architected frameworks, and cloud-native applications.
- Ensure code development aligns with architecture and design guidelines and escalate policy, regulatory, and compliance issues.
Requirements
- At least seven years of experience as an engineer or architect.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments such as financial institutions.
- Understanding of Financial Markets, pricing, valuation, risk management, and pricing engines in front-office and risk processes.
- Strong knowledge of Java and C++.
- Experience developing trading or e-trading applications with low-latency requirements.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
- A continuous-improvement mindset with experience mentoring and training others.
- Previous experience as a backend or quantitative-analysis engineer.
- In-depth knowledge of IT architecture methodologies such as TOGAF, service-management processes, and agile work environments.
- ArchiMate or another architecture modeling language is a plus.
