Base Salary
$200k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set technical strategy and architecture for onboard navigation and pose-estimation systems.
- Lead sensor-fusion and pose-estimation development across IMU, camera, and lidar sensors.
- Direct visual and lidar odometry algorithm development and evaluate build-versus-adopt tradeoffs.
- Define navigation metrics and evaluation methodologies for algorithm and system performance.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for complex and cross-cutting localization problems.
- Evaluate sensor performance and optimize sensor selection.
- Verify sensor calibrations, settings, and uncertainty characterizations.
- Mentor engineers and elevate the technical practices of the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD with academic or industry experience building navigation, localization, and odometry systems.
- Expert-level C++ proficiency and strong software engineering skills.
- Experience building high-reliability deployed applications and maintainable production code.
- Deep experience converting GNSS, IMU, wheel-speed, and similar sensor data into 6-DOF pose using Kalman filtering, factor graphs, or comparable state-estimation techniques.
- Experience with computer vision, visual odometry, and/or point-cloud odometry.
- History of mentoring engineers and improving team technical practices.
- Ability to define and build infrastructure components from scratch and work across engineering disciplines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including design documentation and cross-team collaboration.
