Responsibilities
- Own the architecture of the Client Trading Engine, Pricing Engine, Risk Management Engine, and Smart Hedging systems.
- Set and drive the architectural vision for trading and hedging, taking major architectural decisions through completion.
- Design scalable systems for growing transaction volume, execution venues, and currency corridors.
- Establish observability, alerting, fallback, and recovery standards across the trade and risk path.
- Break ambiguous systems into scoped components with clear contracts and independent deliverability.
- Write production code and provide hands-on technical leadership.
- Coach and mentor engineers and raise engineering quality through design reviews and feedback.
- Partner with product, risk, and engineering managers to connect technical decisions to business outcomes.
Requirements
- 7–12 years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
- Deep experience with distributed systems, including consistency, failure modes, and trade-offs.
- Experience building orchestrators and complex, durable, recoverable long-running workflows.
- Strong database-at-scale experience, including sharding, multi-region deployments, and data-protection constraints.
- Track record operating high-scale systems and the observability and operational tooling supporting them.
- Ability to solve ambiguous problems, define scope, sequence work, and drive delivery.
- Hands-on coding experience and strong architectural judgment grounded in implementation.
- Experience using AI coding tools effectively.
- Influential, collaborative, data-driven, and highly self-directed working style.
- Fintech, trading, cryptocurrency, financial-data, pricing, spread, hedging, market-microstructure, multi-venue execution, or smart-order-routing experience is helpful.
