Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales and consulting teams to create pursuit, solution, and sales strategies for large global clients.
- Conduct discovery and assessment workshops with consulting, operations, and product teams.
- Develop and document technical and business solutions for transformation, migration, and re-platforming initiatives.
- Lead solution development sessions and present technical solutions and business cases to varied audiences.
- Engage executives and senior technology stakeholders to gain support for complex solutions.
- Advise clients as a trusted technology partner and provide recommendations based on technology expertise and prior experience.
- Partner with Product Management on product enhancements and technology roadmap changes.
- Create solutions that improve stability and innovation across clients' current and future-state environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer sciences.
- 20+ years of experience as an architect or equivalent in hosting and network services, preferably with a service provider.
- 12+ years of experience as a modernization or migration architect leading legacy system upgrades with minimal business disruption.
- Hands-on experience with mainframe application migration and legacy modernization projects.
- 15+ years of expertise across COBOL, Natural, Adabas, Easytrieve, Db2, IMS, JCL, CICS, VSAM, RACF, z/OS, PL/I, and Assembler.
- Experience managing multi-phase, multi-dimensional, multi-resource projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Expertise in legacy data structures, data migration, and conversion to modern database platforms.
- Experience evaluating mainframe applications and developing modernization plans.
- Development experience with modern Java and C# frameworks for scalable enterprise applications.
- Extensive Python experience for scripting, automation, data analysis, and scalable backend systems.
- Understanding of AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Ability to apply AI, intelligent automation, advanced analytics, and machine learning to legacy modernization and data migration.
- Knowledge of hosting technologies including compute, storage, backup, network, security, disaster recovery, DevOps, and IT governance.
- Understanding of sales processes for large and complex opportunities.
- Experience with technical documentation, crisis and expectation management, knowledge sharing, teamwork, and problem-solving.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Visio.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral, written, and presentation skills.
