Responsibilities
- Build reliable, performant, and highly available cloud data systems for high-volume vehicle telemetry.
- Design extensible telemetry and data architectures that integrate diverse and bespoke robotics data sources into standardized ingestion frameworks.
- Deliver live telemetry streams and recorded data to cloud destinations, analysis tools, engineers, operators, and test teams.
- Build cloud-native systems with edge-compatible capabilities for offline and air-gapped telemetry capture, including fielding systems to classified environments.
- Normalize data across flight controllers, vehicle management systems, mission systems, and sensor payloads for downstream analysis and reporting.
- Partner with business-line engineering teams to understand data requirements and iteratively deliver solutions.
Requirements
- Experience with modern lakehouse architectures such as Iceberg and Delta Lake, ETL systems such as Flyte, Dagster, Airflow, and Argo Workflows, and distributed processing engines such as Spark and Trino.
- Experience developing and operating high-throughput streaming data pipelines using systems such as Spark Streaming, Flink, and Kafka.
- Strong proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, Rust, and Go; the team predominantly uses Python and Rust for backend services and pipelines.
- Experience building and operating cloud systems with Docker, Kubernetes, and GitOps deployment systems such as FluxCD and ArgoCD.
- U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret clearance is desirable.
