Responsibilities
- Design and build Starlink security infrastructure, including cryptographic and other security-critical services.
- Develop security features for Starlink routers, dishes, gateways, satellites, and related systems.
- Design security into factory processes and provide supporting network services.
- Maintain production systems and improve their security posture through direct implementation and recommendations to other teams.
- Build prototypes and identify, design, and test security improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver secure and reliable Starlink internet services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline and 8+ years of professional security software development experience, or 10+ years of such experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with one or more software development languages, such as Python, C++, or Golang.
- Experience designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or other enterprise-scale infrastructure.
- Experience contributing security improvements to complex systems.
- Preferred experience with Trusted Platform Modules and Hardware Security Modules.
- Fundamental understanding of network protocols, including the TCP/IP stack and UDP-based protocols.
- Advanced degree in a technical or engineering discipline is preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly, work independently and collaboratively, handle ambiguity, and learn new technologies quickly.
- Must satisfy applicable ITAR authorization requirements.
