Base Salary
$180k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and scaling of backend services and APIs.
- Partner with Product Managers to translate project goals into technical requirements.
- Influence engineering best practices, tooling, and architecture patterns.
- Design and implement secure backend systems, including authentication and access control.
- Make architectural decisions balancing performance, security, and scalability.
- Identify technology risks and establish mitigation plans.
- Mentor and guide other engineers through technical design and code reviews.
- Participate in security audits and compliance reviews.
- Implement authentication and authorization protocols adhering to FDA and HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong proficiency in modern backend technologies such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Expertise in distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- Experience in building and deploying large-scale, secure RESTful APIs.
- Ability to mentor and lead other engineers.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Strong understanding of web and OWASP security best practices.
- Experience with DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations and compliance requirements for medical software.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
