Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable enterprise-grade Java backend applications for the Equity Derivatives business.
  • Work across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, technical design, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Translate business and client requirements into technical designs, provide effort estimates, and communicate delivery approaches.
  • Conduct code reviews and test-case reviews to ensure functional and quality requirements are met.
  • Identify and communicate delivery risks proactively to protect project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with front office, operations, and product teams to propose technically sound solutions.
  • Perform systems analysis, component-level design, coding, unit testing, and debugging.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience developing enterprise backend applications in Core Java version 1.7 or above.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to write and interpret queries.
  • Experience integrating with at least one messaging middleware platform, such as Tibco EMS, Solace, or IBM MQ.
  • Ability to work independently and own deliverables with minimal supervision.
  • Experience contributing across requirements analysis, technical design, coding, testing, and delivery.
  • Familiarity with HTML5 and React.js is beneficial.
  • Experience in capital markets, trading, or financial services technology, particularly equity derivatives or similar products, is beneficial.
  • Experience in agile delivery environments and adaptability to changing requirements are beneficial.
