Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and development for multiple medical-device products, including device adapters, DICOM/PACS interfaces, integration engines, and desktop or web applications.
- Design, maintain, and modernize architectures using C#, .NET, WPF, Windows Forms, WCF/SOAP services, Windows services, and XML-based integrations.
- Develop communication and integration layers involving TCP/IP, WebSockets, web services, PACS/DICOM workflows, device communication, and service-to-service interactions.
- Participate in requirements analysis, UML and technical documentation review, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Drive GxP compliance, software quality processes, traceability, documentation, and audit readiness against standards including IEC 62304 and 21 CFR Part 11.
- Define engineering best practices for object-oriented design, service-based architecture, reusable libraries, source control, code reviews, and technical documentation.
- Define test strategies and coverage expectations for unit, component, integration, end-to-end, and system testing.
- Support build, packaging, and release activities using GitHub Actions, Artifactory, SonarQube, MSBuild, NAnt, NSIS, batch scripts, and related tools.
- Troubleshoot issues across application, service, integration, and deployment layers.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, facilitate architectural decisions, and support junior developers.
- Collaborate with product owners, QA, regulatory affairs, DevOps, and external device vendors.
- Plan and estimate development efforts, contribute to sprint planning, maintain engineering backlogs, and track requirements-to-test traceability.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Technology, Bachelor of Science, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- More than eight years of experience in software development, design decisions, and software architecture.
- Hands-on experience with .NET, C#, TypeScript, and Node.js or NestJS for scalable applications and services.
- Experience with desktop application technologies such as WPF and Windows Forms.
- Experience with unit, component, integration, and system testing and with defining test coverage expectations.
- Understanding of Agile software development, sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, iterative delivery, and Scrum collaboration.
- Proficiency in UML and UML modeling tools; Enterprise Architect experience is preferred.
- Experience with source control and collaborative development; GitHub exposure is preferred.
- Knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design, non-functional requirements, software engineering processes, requirements engineering, estimation, scheduling, and tracking.
- Preferred experience includes medical devices, healthcare, radiology, injector systems, GxP-regulated software, software validation, risk management, and audit readiness.
- Preferred familiarity with PACS/DICOM, HL7, clinical integration workflows, device communication, and healthcare interoperability standards.
- Preferred experience includes C/C++ interoperability, native libraries, hardware-adjacent software, SQL scripts, configuration databases, XML data models, certificates, secure communication, and system diagnostics.
- Preferred experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Jama, Enterprise Architect, SonarQube, Artifactory, and GitHub Actions.
