Base Salary
$62k - $83k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop, code, test, debug, and maintain software for a distributed network of computing nodes.
- Build features for AI-enabled data analysis and autonomous control at the edge.
- Maintain software infrastructure through patches, bundles, releases, and maintenance packs.
- Implement software applications, maintain documentation, and perform system integration tasks.
- Identify and resolve database and software performance issues and support debugging and troubleshooting.
- Ensure correct operation of the distributed infrastructure.
- Estimate assigned tasks, prioritize project work, and collaborate with business analysts, stakeholders, and users on requirements and feature design.
- Open and manage vendor support tickets, grant access to users, respond to inquiries, and recommend workflow and best-practice improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- One year of experience developing and maintaining code or services in production.
- Fluency in a programming language such as Python, C, and shell scripts.
- Experience with developer tooling such as Git and Docker, and with Linux.
- Valid driver’s license by the employment start date.
- Authorized to work in the United States by the employment start date.
- Ability to travel between Northwestern University and Argonne National Laboratory.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes.
- Preferred experience with monitoring tooling such as Prometheus.
- Preferred experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions.
