Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of POS terminal solutions across platforms, including security, scalability, performance, and hardware and payment-system integration.
- Develop and maintain architectural documentation and diagrams for POS terminal systems.
- Make architectural decisions involving payment technologies, EMV standards, hardware compatibility, and payment processing.
- Lead development of POS-related applications, including Android Native and mobile applications for repair scheduling and maintenance.
- Optimize payment-processing performance and security and ensure POS product stability and reliability.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce software engineering best practices for mobile and embedded systems development.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align technical solutions with market and business goals.
- Mentor engineers, improve team processes and developer productivity, and participate in hiring POS, mobile, and embedded engineers.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in system design, architecture, and development in the POS terminal domain.
- Strong Android Native development expertise using Java or Kotlin, including Android-based POS terminal solutions.
- Experience with cross-platform mobile development such as Flutter and familiarity with C and JavaScript for POS application platforms.
- Strong knowledge of EMV security protocols, chip-based transactions, encryption, and key management.
- Experience integrating POS hardware such as card readers, PIN pads, printers, and other peripherals.
- Deep understanding of payment systems architecture and integrations with payment processors and gateways.
- Knowledge of software quality assurance principles and their application in financial systems.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, leadership, mentoring, and process-improvement abilities.
