Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of POS terminal solutions for security, scalability, performance, and hardware/payment-system integration.
- Develop and maintain architectural documentation and diagrams for POS terminal systems across platforms.
- Make architectural decisions involving payment technologies, EMV standards, software, and hardware compatibility.
- Lead development of POS-related applications, primarily using Android Native development.
- Optimize payment processing performance and security, including EMV protocols.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align technical solutions with market and business goals.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices for mobile and embedded systems development.
- Define software engineering practices to improve efficiency and developer productivity across POS teams.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure POS product stability and reliability.
- Mentor engineers, support technical growth, and participate in hiring engineers with POS, mobile, and embedded expertise.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in POS terminal system design, architecture, and development.
- Strong Android Native development expertise using Java and Kotlin, with experience in Android-based POS solutions.
- Experience with cross-platform mobile development such as Flutter; familiarity with C and JavaScript-based POS platforms is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of EMV security protocols, chip-based transactions, encryption, and key management.
- Experience integrating POS hardware such as card readers, PIN pads, printers, and other peripherals.
- Deep understanding of payment systems architecture and integrations with payment processors and gateways.
- Knowledge of software quality assurance principles and their application in financial systems.
- Ability to solve complex system-interaction problems and adapt to changing requirements.
- Strong communication skills for presenting technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership and mentoring ability, including driving process improvements within engineering teams.
