Responsibilities
- Complete assigned software engineering tasks with minimal oversight.
- Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain space vehicle flight software.
- Develop C++ software using object-oriented design principles in an embedded Linux environment.
- Ensure software integrates with system baselines, interfaces, and network communications.
- Use existing DevOps tools, repositories, development processes, and collaboration workflows.
- Plan, estimate, and decompose assigned work using software engineering principles.
- Develop test plans and procedures for peer review and execute them with approved test oversight.
- Communicate status, accomplishments, and impediments in daily stand-up meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 2 years of relevant software development experience.
- At least 2 years of software development experience using C/C++.
- Experience with object-oriented design and implementation.
- Experience with or familiarity with embedded Linux development.
- Experience with modern software development tools, including compilers, debuggers, and version control systems such as Git.
- Familiarity with network communications and software interface development.
- Preferred: knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
- Preferred: familiarity with Python for testing, automation, and tooling.
- Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines, Linux shell commands, and debugging tools.
- Preferred: familiarity with requirements analysis, software verification, and validation.
- Preferred: experience using AI-assisted tools for code development, code analysis, and software testing.
