Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and modernize PHP applications.
Build applications with modern PHP frameworks and develop and consume REST APIs.
Develop full-stack applications using PHP and React, Angular, Vue.js, or similar technologies.
Analyze legacy codebases and modernize PHP versions, frameworks, libraries, dependencies, and architectures.
Work with relational and NoSQL databases, enterprise applications, and third-party integrations.
Use AWS or Azure cloud platforms and implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
Improve application performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.
Participate in technical design, architecture discussions, code reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.
Integrate AI/ML services, LLM APIs, and intelligent automation where applicable.
Senior engineers may lead modernization initiatives, define migration strategies, mentor engineers, and lead technical initiatives.

Strong hands-on PHP development experience, preferably with PHP 8.x and including PHP 7.x.
Experience with object-oriented PHP, namespaces, Composer, dependency management, REST API development, and modern PHP practices.
Experience troubleshooting and modernizing PHP 5.x or other legacy PHP applications, frameworks, libraries, and custom MVC architectures.
Experience with at least one modern PHP framework, such as Laravel or Symfony.
Hands-on experience with at least one of React, Angular, Vue.js, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
Strong SQL fundamentals and experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases, including database performance optimization.
Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, debugging, API design, and secure coding practices.
Good-to-have experience includes AWS or Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, microservices, message queues, serverless technologies, Java, .NET, Python, AI/ML services, generative AI, LLM APIs, and AI-assisted development tools.
Junior Engineer roles require 2–4 years of experience, Mid-Level Engineer roles require 3–8 years, and Lead Engineer roles require 8+ years.
Senior engineers should demonstrate technical design and architecture skills, application modernization leadership, security and scalability knowledge, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement.
