Base Salary

$167k - $317k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of firmware for distributed embedded systems with multiple microcontrollers.
  • Develop bare-metal and RTOS low-level software, drivers, application modules, interfaces, and multicore timing-critical architectures.
  • Optimize power and energy consumption, define system-level power requirements, and implement low-power operating modes.
  • Develop ISO26262-compliant software for energy management and powertrain control applications.
  • Perform hardware bring-up, system debugging, bench and HIL verification, labcar testing, and SIL/HIL testing.
  • Create testing methodologies, comprehensive test plans, automation frameworks, and software component tests for release readiness.
  • Instrument and profile software to identify submodule- and system-level optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with electrical architecture, system integration, and platform software teams throughout program development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering; evidence of exceptional ability or equivalent experience is also accepted.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in embedded design.
  • High proficiency in Embedded C and real-time embedded software development.
  • Deep understanding of bare-metal and RTOS implementations, multicore 32-bit embedded controller peripherals, and embedded architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, system debugging, and code optimization.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, including circuit analysis and design.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or a similar system for tracking inputs and results.
  • Preferred experience includes low-level driver development, RTOS integration, Bazel, SCons, CMake, PCB hardware analysis tools, and Python testing scripts.
  • Strong software design, maintainability, collaboration, and communication skills.
