Responsibilities
- Define technology stacks for business applications with software architects.
- Build and evolve a cloud-native platform on Azure serving multiple product teams.
- Design and maintain Kubernetes-based infrastructure and develop a custom Kubernetes operator for application lifecycle management, status reporting, error handling, and reconciliation.
- Author and maintain Helm charts and Terraform modules for Azure resource provisioning.
- Configure sidecar routing, CORS, proxy ports, path rewrites, external service integrations, and direct responses.
- Contribute to authentication and authorization, observability, Azure resource modules, and Azure Storage Account provisioning.
- Develop and improve the internal App Catalog, including frontend and backend components, statistics, mail notifications, and automated update jobs.
- Maintain schema-driven configuration handbooks, onboarding automation, and application scaffolding.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, Scrum ceremonies, documentation, knowledge sharing, and platform-wide improvements.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for application development and contribute to continuous technical improvement.
Requirements
- University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures.
- Solid Kubernetes experience and hands-on Azure cloud experience, including Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server, Azure Storage Accounts, and multi-environment resource management.
- Strong Terraform and Helm experience.
- Understanding of GitOps principles and deployment workflows using tools such as ArgoCD, Flux, or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions.
- Understanding of networking, proxy configuration, authentication and authorization flows, observability, and telemetry stacks.
- Experience with Java SE 17+ and Kubernetes operator patterns is beneficial.
- Strong software design, problem-solving, communication, English, and attention-to-detail skills; German is a plus.
