Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and build a bare metal deployment pipeline targeting sub-60-second provisioning.
- Develop and maintain bare metal automation and management tooling.
- Automate firmware updates across the bare metal fleet using IPMI/BMC protocols.
- Build kexec-based fast-boot and provisioning flows to reduce deployment latency.
- Integrate cloud-init and instance metadata services for bare metal configuration consistency.
- Develop Puppet and Ansible modules for server configuration and lifecycle management.
- Implement VPC networking for bare metal instances, including network attachment and routing automation.
- Collaborate with Provisioning and Orchestration teams to unify OS image pipelines and reservation and assignment systems.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in platform engineering, systems engineering, or infrastructure automation.
- Hands-on experience with bare metal provisioning, IPMI/BMC, PXE boot, and firmware management.
- Strong Linux systems engineering skills and knowledge of boot processes, initramfs, kernel command lines, and device configuration.
- Proficiency in PHP for backend service development in a LAMP environment.
- Experience with Redfish or similar tools.
- Experience building or maintaining instance metadata services or cloud-init integrations.
- Familiarity with Puppet, Ansible, or equivalent configuration management tools.
- Ability to debug hardware and software issues from BMC firmware through the application layer.
- Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration in a remote environment.
- Rust proficiency is preferred.
