Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build new features for the Amazon MSK service and its core data plane.
- Develop scalable services and tools that improve the operation of Apache Kafka.
- Make performance improvements and investigate, prototype, and evaluate new technologies.
- Identify and implement design and code changes in underlying open-source platforms.
- Test and review changes while maintaining a strong customer experience.
- Collaborate with engineers and senior leaders to define the team’s technical roadmap.
- Contribute code changes to the Apache Kafka open-source community.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Experience with large-scale systems supporting millions of transactions per second and streaming technologies such as Amazon Kinesis or Apache Kafka is preferred.
- Experience with Apache Spark, Apache Flink, or Apache Storm is preferred.
