Responsibilities
- Design and develop Java backend services and APIs while driving architectural decisions and code quality.
- Build and own full-stack features spanning Java services and React interfaces from requirements through production.
- Architect IAM flows involving OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, token lifecycles, sessions, multi-tenant identity, and enterprise identity providers.
- Apply threat modeling, RBAC/ABAC, token security, secure-by-design architecture, and zero-trust principles.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies, including blue/green and canary deployments.
- Operate Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm infrastructure at production scale.
- Use AI coding agents and help establish AI-first development practices across the team.
- Integrate LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG patterns, and agentic workflows into platform features.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through reviews, design feedback, pairing, and technical guidance.
- Own observability and incident response, define SLOs, use monitoring tools, and lead post-mortems.
- Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, and Security stakeholders to shape requirements and deliver platform value.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including meaningful experience in platform or identity-adjacent domains.
- Expert-level Java experience with Spring Boot, API design, microservices, performance tuning, and production reliability.
- Strong React experience with hooks, component architecture, state management, and accessible user interfaces.
- Production-grade knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, token flows, multi-tenant environments, Okta, or Azure AD.
- Strong security engineering fundamentals including threat modeling, RBAC/ABAC, secure token handling, input validation, and security-first design.
- Proficiency with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform or Helm, and production infrastructure ownership.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and performance at scale.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and cloud-native design patterns.
- Fluent daily use of AI coding agents such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude.
- Strong communication skills and ability to align engineering, product, and security stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with Kafka, digital certificates, PKI, DigiCert ONE, agentic AI workflows, multi-tenant SaaS, advanced deployment patterns, experimentation frameworks, or relevant open-source contributions.
