Responsibilities
- Build and deliver AI-powered features from functional and technical requirements.
- Develop backend services, APIs, and application-layer integrations deployed on Azure App Service, Azure Functions, or AKS.
- Integrate LLMs into production systems through Azure OpenAI Service.
- Design, test, and optimize prompts using Azure AI Studio.
- Collaborate with ML Engineers to embed models trained or fine-tuned on proprietary data through Azure Machine Learning.
- Participate in model evaluation and validation against quality, accuracy, and performance benchmarks.
- Support testing and deployment through CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Monitor production AI features with Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
- Troubleshoot and refine AI behavior in real-world production scenarios.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering experience focused on backend development, with Python preferred.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, particularly Azure OpenAI Service and GPT models.
- Experience designing and integrating APIs and microservices on Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering and LLM optimization techniques, ideally using Azure AI Studio or similar Microsoft tooling.
- Knowledge of model evaluation frameworks and performance metrics.
- Experience working with ML Engineers or deploying ML models into production through Azure Machine Learning.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices using Azure DevOps.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation using Azure AI Search is desirable.
- Exposure to fine-tuning models or proprietary datasets through Azure Machine Learning is desirable.
- Familiarity with Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric is desirable.
- Experience building scalable AI/ML systems in production on Azure is desirable.
- Microsoft certifications such as Azure AI Engineer Associate are a plus.
