Base Salary

$172k - $229k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop motion control and trajectory optimization algorithms that produce safe, comfortable, and intuitive vehicle motion.
  • Design and build robust, scalable software for production autonomous vehicles and evaluate control and motion-planning techniques.
  • Conduct code and design reviews in C++ based on an understanding of team services and technologies.
  • Use testing, simulation, and continuous-integration toolchains to support rapid development cycles.
  • Collaborate with decision and behavior planning, prediction, and vehicle-control teams on integrated solutions.
  • Create project proposals and technical roadmaps spanning multiple subsystems.
  • Explain complex concepts and trade-offs to peers and leaders to drive technical decisions.
  • Mentor junior team members and promote product-focused engineering, research, and development.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of C++ software development experience.
  • A bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with Model Predictive Control, motion planning, planning under uncertainty, vehicle dynamics and control, and simulation environments.
  • Understanding of numerical optimization algorithms such as interior point methods and sequential quadratic programming.
  • Experience with optimization solvers such as IPOPT and Gurobi.
  • Demonstrated ownership and technical leadership across problem formulation, algorithm design, and implementation.
  • Knowledge of Python is a bonus.
