Responsibilities
- Design and build robust Java backend services and APIs for a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
- Ship product features end-to-end while collaborating directly with product teams and customers.
- Own services through production on AWS and Kubernetes, improving reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, infrastructure-as-code, observability, and reliable development environments.
- Improve systems supporting agentic development, including CI feedback, developer environments, and deployment guardrails.
- Drive architectural decisions across service design and platform evolution.
Requirements
- 5+ years building and owning production backend software at a product company.
- Strong Java experience with APIs, asynchronous processing, concurrency, and performance tuning.
- Solid backend SQL experience including schema design, query optimization, and production migrations.
- Production experience with Kubernetes and AWS, including EKS, IAM, networking, RDS, and S3.
- Experience with CI/CD, GitOps, infrastructure-as-code, scripting, and tools such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD or Flux, and Terraform or Pulumi.
- Experience with observability through metrics, logging, and tracing using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry, along with writing tests.
- Experience shipping production code with AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Ability to work independently in a distributed, asynchronous team and fluent English.
- Preferred: multi-tenant SaaS or high-growth startup experience, Python, ISO27001 or SOC2 experience, agentic or LLM-powered product workflows, and data quality, data management, data observability, or ML monitoring experience.
