Base Salary
$140k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead and influence the design and development of perception foundation models for autonomous vehicles.
- Develop advanced perception models using deep learning and large-scale data analysis.
- Deploy scalable and efficient machine learning models on the autonomous vehicle platform.
- Build components across the ML lifecycle, including data strategy, training, deployment, optimization, and validation.
- Apply scientific and critical-thinking methods to create state-of-the-art deep learning solutions.
- Collaborate with Perception, Motion Planning, Simulation, Infrastructure, and Tooling teams.
- Write C++ code to integrate ML capabilities with the autonomous vehicle platform.
- Work in a hybrid environment with three required office days per week.
Requirements
- MS or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Robotics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience with Python, a major deep learning framework, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience with supervised or unsupervised learning, transfer learning, multi-task learning, and/or deep reinforcement learning.
- Experience across ML workflows including data sampling and curation, preprocessing, model training, ablation studies, evaluation, deployment, and inference optimization.
- Experience with large-scale foundation models, pretraining, multimodal architectures, and self-supervised learning.
- Deep understanding of runtime complexity, distributed or cloud ML infrastructure, data pipeline architecture, and resource-aware optimization.
- Comfort writing C++ code for autonomous vehicle platform integration.
- Strong leadership skills for influencing teammates and technical strategy.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain concepts clearly and precisely.
